Empowered Women, Engaged Men
I recently presented about YARID's women's empowerment program at the Voices of Women event at University of California at San Diego (UCSD). The panel included: Scott Silverman, the founder of Second Chance (a leading organization in workforce development in San Diego), who now runs a business helping people overcome their addictions, Steve Wisotzki from the Navy Special Forces who works with character development with young men who become Navy Seals, and Dr. Jay Silverman the Director of the Center for Gender Equity & HEalth at UCSD.
We all discussed the role of women in each of these fields of work, and men's role in creating space for women to thrive.
